About the Role
Faithworks Total Ground Maintenance, LLC is seeking a part-time Licensed Pesticide and Field Quality Specialist to lead our ornamental and turf pesticide program and help strengthen field quality across our government and commercial grounds-maintenance contracts.
This is a hands-on position for an experienced turf professional who understands pesticide and herbicide applications, Florida turf and ornamental care, employee training, field inspections, and quality control.
The successful candidate will work approximately 16 hours per week, primarily in the field, with the opportunity for additional hours as our pesticide and grounds-maintenance programs grow.
Key responsibilities include:
• Perform and supervise lawful pesticide and herbicide applications.
• Train approved employees on pesticide labels, application procedures, PPE, equipment use, calibration, and safety.
• Maintain pesticide application records, chemical inventory, labels, SDS documentation, and training records.
• Inspect government and commercial properties for turf quality, weeds, mowing, edging, trimming, scalping, overhang, litter, and incomplete work.
• Photograph and document deficiencies and verify corrective actions.
• Coach crew leaders and field employees on turf care, landscape quality, and proper maintenance practices.
• Assist with technical site reviews and pesticide requirements for government and commercial contracts.
• Help Faithworks develop a professional, compliant, and scalable ornamental and turf pesticide program.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced golf course, sports turf, parks, cemetery, municipal grounds, or commercial landscape professional seeking meaningful part-time work while applying their technical knowledge and field leadership experience.
• Active Florida FDACS commercial pesticide applicator license authorizing Ornamental and Turf applications. Candidates must provide current license information for verification.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in pesticide application, turf management, golf course maintenance, parks, sports turf, cemetery grounds, municipal grounds, or commercial landscaping preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Florida turf, ornamentals, weeds, pesticide labels, herbicide application, equipment calibration, and safe chemical handling.
• Experience training or supervising field employees preferred.
• Ability to inspect properties objectively, document deficiencies, and coach employees on corrective action.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to report to Mt. Dora, Florida, and travel to Faithworks job sites throughout Lake County, Orange County, Apopka, and occasionally Palatka.
• Ability to work outdoors, walk large properties, lift and carry pesticide application equipment, and use a mobile device for photographs and reports.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to work independently.
