Greenskeeper - Shangri-La Resort

About the position

The Greenskeeper works under direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and performs tasks supporting the daily maintenance of the golf course and special projects. The role involves operating handheld power tools and golf course maintenance equipment, performing manual labor, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Landscaping and golf course experience are a plus.

The position emphasizes guest service, professionalism, teamwork, reliable attendance, adaptability, and adherence to safety and security procedures. Early mornings, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and irregular shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

Support daily golf course maintenance and special projects.Use handheld power equipment, including weed eaters, backpack blowers, hand edgers, hedge trimmers, and chainsaws.Perform manual labor such as shoveling, pruning, sod work, raking, and bunker maintenance.Operate golf course equipment, including bunker rakes, Sandpro equipment, reel mowers, rough mowers, greens rollers, and utility carts.Work in all weather conditions.Deliver exceptional guest service and act as a guest relations ambassador.Treat guests and associates professionally, courteously, and respectfully.Follow established work procedures and policies, and maintain punctuality and reliable attendance.Adapt positively to changes in the work environment and approach problem-solving proactively.Follow safety and security policies, including key controls and proper chemical handling.Use care when lifting heavy objects and promptly report safety concerns or hazards.Follow emergency procedures to help maintain a secure environment.Help coworkers with their duties and work as part of a team.Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.Must be able to pass a background check.Must maintain professional relationships with customers, management, and coworkers.Must be able to work flexible schedules and be willing to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds; the job description also notes occasional lifting of more than 25 pounds.Must have the physical stamina and mental fortitude to work under pressure at a fast pace while handling multiple tasks and providing guest service.Knowledge of golf course maintenance operations and guest services.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Nice-to-haves
