JobID: 7222 Position Type: Athletics Coaches/Coach - Golf Date Posted: 6/29/2026 Location: Danbury High School Closing Date: Open Until Filled Position Overview Danbury Public Schools is seeking a motivated and student-centered individual to serve in a split-season JV Golf coaching position, supporting both the Boys JV Golf program in the fall and the Girls JV Golf program in the spring at Danbury High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the head coach and providing a positive, educational, and competitive athletic experience for student-athletes while supporting the mission and values of Danbury Public Schools and the DHS Athletic Department. The coach will emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoyment of the game in a developmental JV setting. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and supervise all JV Boys Golf activities during the fall season and JV Girls Golf activities during the spring season Teach fundamental golf skills, rules, etiquette, and course management strategies Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity, and positive athletic behavior Support the academic, social, and emotional growth of student-athletes Maintain effective communication with student-athletes, parents/guardians, athletic staff, and school administration Coordinate practice schedules, match preparation, and transportation logistics Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices, matches, and related team activities Monitor and enforce compliance with school, district, CIAC, and team rules and expectations Assist with equipment management, inventory, and program organization Attend required meetings, trainings, and athletic department events Collaborate with varsity and other program staff to ensure alignment and consistency across all levels Qualifications Must possess Connecticut Teaching Certification with Coaching Permit preferred, or Coaching Certification Must possess valid First Aid and CPR Certificates and Module 15 – Concussion Management Knowledge of and/or experience in golf preferred Previous coaching experience working with high school-aged students preferred Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage a dual-season coaching assignment (fall and spring) Working Conditions 150 hours (split between fall and spring seasons) $20.42 per hour (or district standard coaching rate) Application Procedure Apply online through the Danbury Public Schools employment portal.
