Sherwood Country Club is a private, member-owned golf and country club in Thousand Oaks, California. Set at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains, Sherwood is home to a championship 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, driving range and stately golf clubhouse. Sherwood also has a full service Tennis Clubhouse complete with a member and family dining room, pub, swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness facility and spa.

The tennis club has 12 tennis courts, including 8 hard courts (one with stadium seating), two clay courts, 2 grass courts, 3 pickle ball courts, sand volleyball and a sports court, all of which can be lit for nighttime play.

Sherwood is proud to embody a team spirited work culture. We are looking for a professional cook to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. The responsibilities will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our member satisfaction goals.

Responsibilities

Set up and stocking stations with all necessary suppliesPrepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staffAnswer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructionsClean up station and take care of leftover foodStock inventory appropriatelyEnsure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashionComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customersSkills

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cookExcellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresAccuracy and speed in executing assigned tasksFamiliar with industry’s best practicesCulinary school diplomaJob Type: Part-time
