Compensation:
$42.00 per hour
Summary:
This position includes all the mechanics duties at Glenview Golf Course. The Lead Equipment Technician will also consult, lead, assist and mentor the four other mechanics at golf courses within our portfolio. A company vehicle will be provided at the site for travel, when travel to the other properties is necessary.
The individual will be responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and sharpening of a wide range of turf equipment. A strong emphasis is placed on reel maintenance and precision sharpening to ensure consistent, high-quality cuts across greens, tees, and fairways. Reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering pristine playing conditions through exceptional equipment performance are essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintains a preventive maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. Places orders for parts and supplies as needed for equipment or service.

Inspects, adjusts, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical defects in many types of golf course maintenance equipment.

Performs reel grinding (both spin and relief grinding), bedknife sharpening, and mower adjustments for optimal height-of-cut and quality-of-cut standards.

Performs mower grinding and sharpening, general overhaul of motors and reels, and installs and adjusts braking systems.

Performs machining or welding work in making fittings used in the repair of maintenance equipment.

Manages expenses in the maintenance of the equipment fleet relating to parts purchases, inventory levels, service work, fuel inventories, and related items.

Ensures accurate records are kept of preventive maintenance, repairs made, and parts ordered.

Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of light and heavy construction and maintenance equipment and automotive apparatus. Maintains skills in the use of a wide variety of equipment repair tools and in the making of various types of mechanical repairs.

Diagnoses mechanical troubles and schedules appropriate preventive maintenance work.

Works closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to support daily course setup.

Organizes and maintains a clean and safe maintenance area.
