CLUB DETAILS Facility: Ownership – Corporation Course Access: Semi-Private Number of Holes: 18 Total Annual Rounds: 25,000 Number of Carts: 60 Members: 750 Primary Golf Season: April – October (Open 12 Months) Caddie Program: No Practice Range: Yes Short Game Area: No Number of Staff Managed: 30 Full-Time; 35 Part-Time Position Overview Title: General Manager Reports to: Board of Directors Supervises Golf/Golf Shop Banquets/EventsMembership SalesCourse Maintenance Tennis Facility Pool & Fitness Center Finance/Accounting F&B Operation Position Description: The General Manager directs all aspects of the facility including its activities and the relationships between the facility and its Board of Directors, patrons, employees, community, government, and industry. Coordinates and administers facility policies and provide supervision and support to all department heads. Monitors the quality of products and services to maximize customer satisfaction. Secures and protects facility assets. Essential Job Functions Planning, Finance, Regulations Development / coordinates the development of long-range and annual business plansCoordinates the development of operating and capital budgetsCoordinates long-range planning for the facilityAnalyzes and monitors financial statements, and reviews income and expenses relative to plans, implements corrective measures as needed, and reports status on a monthly basisMakes recommendations for capital improvements, supplies, and equipmentAssures operational compliance with local, state, and federal laws Maintains knowledge and compliance with all lease terms and contractual obligations Administration Develops and maintains a sound organizational structureOversees the development of operating procedures and training manualsDevelops emergency and safety proceduresOversees and works with department heads to schedule, supervise and direct work of facility staffConducts regularly scheduled staff meetings Attends executive meetingsCommunicates to controlling entity on a structured and timely basis Operations Develops/implements general policies. Approves specific operational policies, programs, and procedures in harmony with the mission and general policiesMonitors the performance of all daily operations, functions and services; assures high standards and total customer satisfactionEnsure open communication and high visibility to customers by conducting daily walk-through of facilityEstablishes personnel policies; ensures proper hiring, training, supervising, personal development and corrective action in accordance with fair labor standards and safety Ensures accurate recording of hourly labor and timely, accurate payroll processingManages and oversees all accounting, inventory, banking, audit procedures, cash flow, and establishes controls to safeguard funds and assetsServes as ex officio member of appropriate committeesMeets, greets, and welcomes prospective members where applicableOversees the care and maintenance of all physical assets and facilitiesCoordinates the marketing and promotional programs to promote facility services and amenitiesEnsures the highest standards for golf services and programs, golf course and practice areas, food and beverage, recreation, entertainment, and other facility servicesEstablishes and monitors compliance with all purchasing policies and proceduresEnsures and initiates programs to provide customers with a variety of innovative functions, programs and eventsProvides resolution of escalated customer service issues Experience And Qualifications Including, but not limited to, the following: Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classificationActively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) programFundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operationsFundamental supervisory practices and principlesAct as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employeesStrong organizational, planning and prioritization skillsSelf-motivated with desire to promote and marketService and customer focused attitudeExperienced in written and oral business communicationsRemaining up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies Utilize the resources of PGA player development programs such as Get Golf Ready, PGA Sports Academy, Tee it Forward and othersExperienced computer users include Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and databaseMaintain and promote a positive professional image within the communityAttend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trendsMaintain a credible golf game and remain current on teaching innovations Compensation And Benefits The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
