Golf Course Laborer- Full-time

About the position

Renwood Golf Course, part of the Round Lake Area Park District, has a full-time, year-round opportunity for a Golf Course Laborer. The role includes a variety of outdoor tasks in all types of weather. Summer work starts at 5:30 a.m.; weekends and holidays may be required.\n\nThe Golf Course Laborer maintains and repairs the golf course grounds and facilities, including the pro shop, maintenance shop, and cart barn. The position also includes snow removal, assisting with seasonal employees when necessary, and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Use various mowing equipment, including sit-on reel and rotary mowers, to maintain golf course grounds.Perform course setup, including cutting cups, setting tee markers, and removing trash.Lift equipment, landscaping materials, and building materials weighing more than 50 pounds.Dig, rake, and shovel soil, mulch, and leaves.Use power equipment such as line trimmers, pole pruners, chainsaws, blowers, rototillers, and carpentry tools.Operate manual geared utility vehicles and tractors.Use a lift to prune trees and perform facility repairs.Use trucks and a woodchipper for tree cleanup operations.Paint golf course equipment and buildings.Perform irrigation and plumbing repairs above and below ground.Read and follow park district rules, policies, and safety procedures.Communicate respectfully and courteously with employees and the general public.Remove snow.Direct seasonal employees safely when necessary.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements

Valid Illinois driver’s license.Ability to operate equipment and tools safely and proficiently.Ability to work both in a team environment and independently.Customer service skills.Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug test.Knowledge of maintenance and manual tasks involved in the general upkeep, repairs, cleanliness, and overall appearance of buildings, grounds, and equipment.Benefits
