About the Role

2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Golf Club in Edwards, Colorado is looking for a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent. Position Overview: As the 2nd Assistant Golf Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of excellence for our golf course. You will support the Superintendent and 1st Assistant Superintendent in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a pristine playing surface for our members and guests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist in all aspects of golf course maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and execution of tasks. • Supervise and train the maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe operations. • Actively participate in daily maintenance activities, such as mowing, fertilizing, watering, and other essential tasks. • Assist in operating and repairing the irrigation system, monitoring water usage, and troubleshooting issues. • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals safely and responsibly, adhering to environmental standards. • Diagnose and address turfgrass health issues, implementing corrective measures as needed. • Promote a safe working environment by conducting regular safety checks and enforcing regulations. • Contribute to course improvement projects, including renovations, aeration, and other special maintenance activities. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and other relevant data. • Participate in winter responsibilities, including snow removal, facility upkeep, projects, and educational seminars. • Offer support and assistance to the Golf Course Mechanic. • Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent • Basic knowledge of turfgrass management practices, equipment operation, and irrigation systems • Previous experience in golf course landscaping and maintenance, with experience at a high-end public or private golf course preferred • Knowledge of golf rules, regulations, and policies • Previous experience with pesticide and fertilizer schedules • Working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices, and methods • Understanding of current federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to golf course operations • Lawn mowing equipment experience Compensation $58,656 to $65,000 per year.
