About the Role
First Tee – Western New York is a nonprofit youth development organization that empowers young people through character education, life skills development, and healthy habits using the game of golf as our platform. We serve youth across Buffalo, Rochester, and surrounding communities by providing accessible and inclusive programs at golf courses, schools, and community partner sites. We are committed to growing girls’ participation in the sport and helping them discover confidence, resilience, leadership, and a sense of belonging through golf.
First Tee – Western New York is seeking an enthusiastic and mission‑driven Girls Golf Coordinator to lead, grow, and elevate our Girls Golf programs across the region. This role is responsible for designing and delivering fun, empowering, and developmentally appropriate golf experiences for girls of all ages and skill levels.
The Girls Golf Coordinator will plan and manage clinics, seasonal events, and special initiatives that build confidence, foster belonging, and encourage long‑term engagement in the sport. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model who can build strong relationships with youth participants, families, volunteers, and partner golf facilities while reinforcing First Tee’s Core Values and Key Commitments.
This position plays a key role in advancing gender equity in youth sports and expanding access to meaningful golf opportunities throughout Western New York. The Girls Golf Coordinator reports to the Director of Development.
Key Areas of ResponsibilityPlan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality Girls Golf instruction integrating life skills and golf fundamentalsRecruit, train, mentor, and schedule volunteer coachesManage program communications including registration, scheduling, and parent engagementPlan and execute Girls Golf events, community outreach engagements, and special opportunitiesPromote the program through marketing, recruitment, and strong community relationshipsMaintain a positive, encouraging culture that ensures a great experience for every girlSupport alignment with First Tee national training and curriculum standardsQualificationsRequired: Coaching experience working directly with youthStrong communication abilities and a professional, positive demeanorPassion for advancing girls’ participation and retention in sportsKnowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and basic fundamentalsAbility to manage multiple projects with attention to detailAbility to work some evenings and weekends throughout the yearAbility to lift program equipment, work indoors and outdoors in seasonal weatherWillingness to complete First Tee Coach training and certification programMust successfully pass a criminal background check prior to employmentCompetitive golf, event management, and volunteer leadership experience are plus factors.Terms of EmploymentFull‑time exempt position beginning as soon as possible and open until filled
Primary service locations throughout Western New York
Salary range: $43,000 – $50,000 annually, based on experience
