About the Role
The purpose of this classification is to serve as point of sale person for collection of all course fees and pro shop merchandise, to take reservations for tee times in person and over the telephone, and to provide information about the golf course and/or merchandise.
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Collects green fees and cart rental fees; enters into computerized system; reconciles number of rounds played.
Talks on the telephone; coordinates tee times; coordinates lessons for Director of Golf and Head Professional; provides information.
Sells merchandise; enters transaction into computer; reconciles cash; opens and closes pro shop; secures facility at closing.
Directs pace of play to rangers.
Deals with ball dispensing machine and call sequencer in diagnosing and fixing problems.
Transports golf carts.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
High school diploma or valid equivalent; supplemented by 2 months previous experience and/or training involving retail, clerical and general office work. Must posses [ or able to obtain within fourteen (14) days of hire ] and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications for education and experience must be met before consideration of the following Preferred Qualifications:One (1) year of previous experience in Golf Pro Shop.
Data Utilization: Requires the ability to calculate and/or tabulate data. Includes performing subsequent actions in relation to these computational operations.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to exchange information for the purpose of clarifying details within well established policies, procedures and standards.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate, maneuver and/or control the actions of equipment, machinery, tools, and/or materials used in performing essential functions.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a variety of reference data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change.
