About the position
Valley Country Club is seeking an Associate Golf Professional! Qualified\ncandidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on\nproviding superior service.\n\nGeneral Purpose:\nAssists in administering all daily operations, including, but not limited to:\nfacilitating sales, assisting with merchandise, operating the POS system,\nmanaging handicap and tee sheet applications, acting as a ranger, starter, guest\nrelations, outside service, or golf shop shifts.
Responsibilities
Administers all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply\nto green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing. Coordinates\nwith the Accounting Department on all policy and procedure revisions,\nupdates, and implementation.Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-in, and receives payments from\nmembers and guests. Resolves discrepancies as they apply to duplicate charges\nand over- or underpayment. Tracks all force posts and no-show charges as\napplicable.Initiates and promotes all club golf activities.Creates lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists retail buyers\nwith procurement and merchandise, and shop assistants with merchandising and\nsales.Supervises preparations for all golf outings, including scorecards, cart\nlabels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets,\nand hole assignments.Monitors all members’ scores, reports handicapping to USGA, and bills\nmembers.Assists the Manager in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning,\nand directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding; and disciplining\nmaintenance associates; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.Assists in the management of department members that may include, but are not\nlimited to: Starters, Player Assistants, and Guest Services Attendants.Ensures that effective orientation and training are given to each new\nassociate. Assists in developing ongoing training programs.Assists in monitoring business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in\nareas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve\nguest satisfaction.Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.Regular and reliable attendance.Performs other duties as required.Requirements
Associate’s degree (AA); or six months to one year of related experience and/or\ntraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties\nof the job (e.g., the associates are required to communicate with\nEnglish-speaking customers or co-workers, and the manuals for the equipment\nthe associates may use are in English).Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.Current PGA/LGPA MembershipBenefits
