Meadowcreek Golf Course, located in Charlottesville, VA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Assistant General Manager! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
General Purpose
Assists in administering all daily operations including, but not limited to: facilitating sales, assisting with merchandise, operating POS system, managing tee sheet applications, acting as ranger, starter, guest relations, and some golf shop shifts.
Essential Duties
Assist in administering all point of sale application revisions and needs as it applies to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and passholder/guest billing; coordinate with accounting departments on all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementationsReconcile daily tee sheets, perform check-in, and receive payments from passholders and guests; resolve discrepancies as it applies to duplicate charges and over or under payment; track all force posts and no show charges as applicablePromote all golf course activities, events, and tournamentsAssist in the creation of lesson plans and provide both individual and group instructionMaintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop; assist the retail buyer with procurement of merchandise and shop assistants with merchandising and salesPrepare for all golf outings including coordinating scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets and hole assignmentsMonitor all passholder scores, report handicapping to USGA and complete billingFollow established opening and closing proceduresAssist with associate trainingIncorporate safe work practices in job performanceRegular and reliable attendancePerform other duties as required
Education/Experience
Associate’s degree or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Environment/Noise
Previous golf and management experience required.
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions. Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses
Current PGA/LPGA Membership or Associate in good standing.
Job Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Preferences
Ability to read and speak English is required in order to perform the duties of the job (the associate is required to communicate with English-speaking customers and/or co-workers; manuals for the equipment the associate may use are in English) Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Experience with computerized POS and tee time systems
