Responsibilities include maintaining ornamental landscaping, turf care, irrigation systems, specialty gardens, and high-end estate features such as pools and fountains. Groundskeepers utilize hand tools, powered equipment, and turf machinery to complete daily assignments. This position requires both independent work and collaboration on larger projects. Training will be provided for specialized or independent assignments. This is an entry-level position. Benefits We are proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Holidays, Vacation and Sick Leave Complimentary Lunch Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Employer-Paid Life Insurance Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Plants and maintains ornamental shrubs and trees Trims and feeds shrubs and trees, fence lines, lake banks, bunker edges and hillsides; removes cuttings Maintains landscape beds around the clubhouse, club grounds, and private estate Rakes and blows leaves Mows greens and fairways by operating walk-behind, hover mowers, riding mowers, and self-propelled turf equipment Weed eating with line trimmers Uses edging and clean line equipment Edges cart paths Edges, rakes, and maintains sand bunkers Sands tee tops and drop area divots Repairs and maintains the driving range tee Prepares and lays sod Prepares soil plant beds and establishes plantings by seed or transplants Maintains annual and perennial flowers in aesthetic arrangements Operation of hand and backpack blowers Utilizes backpack sprayers and fertilizer equipment Operation of hand tools for digging while planting and irrigation or drainage repairs Digs holes and trenches to maintain or construct irrigation and drainage lines Installs pipe and backfills excavations Knowledge and repair of irrigation systems preferred Use of trimming equipment and saws Planting of large to small plants Use of pool cleaning equipment Proper operation of pressure washing units Proper ladder and climbing techniques Use of utility carts and full-sized vehicles Loads and unloads materials Removes trash around the golf course, clubhouse, club grounds, and estate property; empties garbage cans Cleans equipment used in practice areas and estate grounds Washes and returns all equipment to designated maintenance locations; cleans maintenance areas Aerifies and spikes greens Assists in project work Seasonal and specialty garden care as needed Christmas light installation and take down Party setup and clean up Package receipt and unloading Reports to assistant superintendent, superintendent, or professional garden supervisor for training and guidance Intends to live our mission, help build upon our vision, and uphold our values Performs other duties as directed
Job Qualifications: Good attitude and highly motivated self-starter Positive attitude with a "we can do this" team spirit Eye for meticulous detail to impress members and estate owners Strong communication skills and ability to understand written and oral instruction Working knowledge of small equipment and hand tools Knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment Has the ability to learn new technologies and equipment as necessary Knowledge of golf course operations preferred Knowledge of irrigation systems preferred Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations High School diploma or equivalent Must be able to handle stress in a healthy and professional manner Must be able to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner Physical Requirements (not limited to) Must be able to stand; walk; bend; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. Must be able to reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Must be able to work in a busy, noisy environment. Must be able to handle outdoor working conditions which may be cold, hot, humid, wet/slippery. Must be able to frequently lift, bend, climb, stoop and pull. Must be able to continuously stand, sit and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
