About the Role
Position Summary:
Participates in all activities related to outside services. Activities may include staging and/or returning golf cars, performing practice range duties, cleaning and maintaining golf cars, starting, marshalling etc. Responsibilities also include greeting and interacting with guests and providing information and/or assistance as appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Bring carts from cart shelter to cart staging area. Ensure that carts are clean, operating properly and are properly equipped with towels, pencils, score cards, tees, sand/seed mix bottles, ice water, etc. Report any repair problems to the supervisor and mechanic.
· Perform valet duties in the bag drop area including greeting and interacting with members/guests, removing golf bags from cars, and providing information, directions and/or assistance as appropriate.
· Return golf cars to the cart storage area. Remove towels, pencils, score cards, tees, trash, etc., from carts and save reusable items. Wash cart with pressure cleaner, park cart and connect charger cable.
· Perform practice range duties including transporting range balls, cleaning and maintaining the tee area, repositioning bag stands or barriers, removing trash from receptacles, refilling water jugs, operating the ball picker on the range, washing range balls, etc.
· Observe on-course pace of play and coordinates pace of play with starter and other rangers.
· Request slower playing groups to speed up pace, if appropriate.
· Assist golfers with information that may help them play the course such as local rules, yardage markers, location of rest stations, areas to avoid with carts, etc.
· Remind golfers to replace divots, repair ball marks, and rake sand traps.
· Monitor on-course activities and report all infractions to Starter.
· Greet and welcome all golfers. Provide information regarding golf course conditions, local rules, expected playing time, golf course safety and emergency procedures, golf course etiquette, and other golf-related issues.
· Verify that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they depart to the golf course, practice tee or range.
· Review and maintain time sheets to anticipate playing time problems. Monitor turn times and keep the golf shop staff and golf course rangers informed regarding potential speed of play issues.
· Perform other duties as appropriate.
Qualifications:
· High school preferred.
· Demonstrated quality interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends.
· Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations.
