## Join the TPC Network at TPC Deere Run
TPC Deere Run is a par-71, 7,256-yard championship golf course open to the public, located in the Quad Cities region of Silvis, Illinois — just over a two-hour drive from Chicago. Since 2000, it has hosted the PGA TOUR’s annual John Deere Classic and has been recognized by _Golf Digest_ as one of America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses, and ranked fifth in Illinois by _Golf. We’re looking for an **Equipment Operator I** — an entry-level, part-time seasonal position — to join our grounds maintenance team. As Equipment Operator, you’ll operate machinery and perform specific tasks to keep the golf course in top condition.
### What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Operating equipment such as utility vehicles, blowers, walk top dressers, and backhoes
- Line trimming trees, shrubs, and posts
- Edging cart paths, sprinkler heads, and bunkers
- Repairing ball marks, filling divots, laying sod, and hand raking bunkers
- Performing other hand tool operations as needed
- Maintaining logs for machine operation, maintenance, and gas usage
- Keeping the maintenance facility clean, organized, and safe
- Cleaning machinery after each use and inspecting all equipment, reporting any deficiencies to the Equipment Technician
- Following the Golf Course Maintenance Operations Manual for each task
- Wearing required personal protective clothing and/or using protective equipment
- Taking on special projects and other duties as assigned
You’ll receive thorough training on each procedure before you perform it, and you’ll work under the guidance of the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I, or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent II.
### What We’re Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent education
- The ability to understand and follow directions and operate golf course machinery
This position is physically active — you’ll need to lift, pull, or push up to or over 50 pounds, and handle items with awkward weights. You should be comfortable working in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. You must also comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.

### Work Schedule & Travel
This is a part-time seasonal role with shifts scheduled as needed based on business levels. Travel is not expected for this position. This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
