The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests attending weddings, corporate functions, and special events at LBI National Golf & Resort. This role supports event execution by providing friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented service throughout all phases of the event.
The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and passionate about hospitality, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Event Setup & Preparation
Arrive on time and in proper uniform, ready for event setup
Review event details, assignments, and responsibilities prior to service
Assist with setting tables, including linens, silverware, and glassware
Follow event diagrams and instructions provided by the Event Manager or Supervisor
Ensure all assigned areas are properly prepared prior to guest arrival
Event Service Execution
Provide friendly, prompt, and attentive service to all guests
Serve food and beverages according to timing and service standards
Maintain awareness of event flow, including hors d’oeuvres, cocktail hour, and formal service
Clear tables, refill beverages, and maintain a clean and organized event space
Assist with transitions between event phases (cocktail hour, dinner, speeches, etc.)
Guest Experience & Professionalism
Promote and embody the VIVÂMEE Virtues in all guest interactions
Maintain a polished and professional appearance throughout the event
Anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service
Communicate effectively with team members and event leadership
Event Breakdown & Side Work
Complete all assigned side work following the event
Assist with clearing tables, breaking down event setup, and organizing equipment
Ensure all duties are completed before requesting dismissal from the Event Manager
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all service areas
Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with banquet team, kitchen staff, and leadership
Follow direction from Event Managers and Supervisors
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1 year of experience in food service or hospitality preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
