About the Role
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Clubhouse Bartender at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club plays an essential role in ensuring that the bar area is stocked, clean, and organized while providing exceptional service to our members. They will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring smooth communication with fellow team members and other departments, while preparing high-quality cocktails and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Bartenders are responsible for creating a positive guest experience by preparing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing knowledgeable recommendations, and ensuring all bar operations run smoothly. They must be able to work in a team-oriented setting, stay up to date with cocktail trends, and maintain a clean and stocked bar. As a representative of the club, they will also be tasked with building relationships with members and delivering a high-end service experience.
JOB TASKS AND DUTIES:
• Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Assess members' needs and preferences, providing recommendations for beverages and ensuring a personalized experience.
• Plan and present the bar menu, ensuring it aligns with member preferences and seasonal trends.
• Confirm patrons' legal drinking age by checking IDs.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory, keeping the liquor cabinets, wine room, and beer room clean and tidy.
• Maintain guest focus and provide an excellent guest experience at all times.
• Follow all food and beverage regulations, ensuring responsible service.
• Create and maintain personal connections with members, building rapport over time.
• Have an in-depth understanding of the food and bar menus, ensuring accurate recommendations.
• Answer phones efficiently, make reservations, and provide proper information to members.
• Use the Jonas POS system to accurately ring in orders.
• Ensure the snack station is always clean, tidy, and stocked.
• Work closely with servers to ensure drinks are delivered promptly and efficiently.
• Execute the beginning of shift setup and perform end-of-shift cleaning, polishing, and organization.
• Present wine to guests according to the club's high standard.
• Follow recipes for specialty cocktails and stay updated on cocktail trends.
• Serve full food service at the bar as necessary, ensuring timely and professional service.
• Maintain an organized and efficient bar/service well, prepping syrups, juices, garnishes, and other necessary items.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow staff members to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform the roles and responsibilities of a server when necessary, ensuring a seamless member experience.
• Work member events hosted at the Member’s Clubhouse as needed
• Maintain education on allergy precautions and popular accommodations for food & beverage.
• Successfully stay updated and pass all trainings including but not limited to monthly staff trainings, company-wide service trainings, daily preshift meetings, and food, beverage & service quizzes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven experience working as a Bartender, with a focus on providing high-end service.
• In-depth knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks.
• Strong computer literacy, including experience with POS systems.
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked, and clean.
• Relevant training certificate or certification.
• Sufficient understanding and ability to speak English to successfully perform the role.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
