About the Role
BROOKSIDE COUNTRY CLUB
Canton, Ohio
Kitchen Expeditor
This Isn’t Just Another Kitchen Job
If you know how a line should flow, can spot a missing side from ten feet away, and take pride in making sure every plate leaves the kitchen right the first time, keep reading.
Brookside Country Club is looking for a Kitchen Expeditor who can bring calm, clarity, and consistency to the heart of service. This is a great opportunity for a current line cook who knows the rhythm of a busy kitchen, understands what quality looks like, and is ready for something different without stepping away from the action.
About Brookside Country Club
Brookside Country Club is a private club in Canton, Ohio where hospitality, consistency, and teamwork matter. Our members expect a dining experience that feels polished, welcoming, and well-executed, whether they are joining us for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or a major club event.
That kind of experience does not happen by accident. It takes a kitchen team that communicates well, works with urgency, and takes real pride in every plate that leaves the line. That is where this role comes in.
The Role
We’re hiring a Kitchen Expeditor to help lead the flow of service between the kitchen and front-of-house. You will work at the center of the line, making sure food is plated correctly, timed properly, and sent out with consistency and precision.
This is not a role for someone who wants to stand back, and watch service happen. It is for someone who wants to be in the middle of it, calling the line, organizing tickets, checking details, and helping the entire team stay sharp when the pace picks up.
If you are a line cook looking to use your kitchen knowledge in a new way, this could be a strong next step.
What You’ll Own
• Keep the line moving smoothly by coordinating communication between cooks and service staff
• Review every plate before it leaves the kitchen for accuracy, presentation, temperature, and completeness
• Catch missing items, incorrect sides, allergy concerns, and special requests before food hits the floor
• Organize tickets and help pace service so tables are fired and finished correctly
• Support chefs and cooks by helping maintain order during busy meal periods and club events
• Communicate clearly and confidently with both back-of-house and front-of-house teams
• Help reduce re-fires, delays, and avoidable mistakes through attention to detail and strong follow-through
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional expo window throughout service
• Play a key role in delivering a member dining experience that feels smooth, polished, and consistent
What We’re Looking For
• Experience as a line cook, expeditor, or in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Someone who understands timing, plate presentation, and what quality looks like in service
• A clear communicator who can work well with chefs, cooks, servers, and managers
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay composed under pressure
• A team player who takes pride in helping everyone around them perform better
• A strong sense of urgency without becoming careless or rushed
• Dependability, professionalism, and the ability to stay organized during busy shifts
• Private club, restaurant, or hospitality experience is a plus, but kitchen instincts and attitude matter most
Why You’ll Love Working Here
This is not just a different station. It is a different kind of opportunity.
For the right person, this role is a chance to step out of the same line-cook routine and take on something that uses your kitchen experience in a new way. You will still be in the middle of service, still part of the team, still close to the food, but with a broader view of how the whole operation comes together.
Here’s what that can look like day-to-day:
• A New Challenge — You already know how the kitchen works. This role gives you the chance to use that knowledge in a position that is more focused on coordination, communication, and execution.
• A Bigger Impact on Service — You are not just responsible for one station. You help shape the flow of the entire line and the experience members receive at the table.
• Skill Building — This is a great role for someone who wants to grow in leadership, communication, and service management while staying in the culinary environment.
• A Strong Team Environment — At Brookside, great service is a team effort. We value people who support each other, communicate well, and take pride in doing things the right way.
• Work That Gets Noticed — When expo is strong, everyone feels it. The kitchen runs better, the floor runs smoother, and members notice the difference.
Sound Like Your Kind of Role?
If you are a current line cook looking to do something different, or someone with strong kitchen instincts who thrives on organization, timing, and teamwork, we would love to hear from you.
