Role Description The Golf Coach is a full-time, on-site role based at Ohio Golf Club in Akron, OH. This role is responsible for providing individual and group golf instruction, including swing analysis, short game development, and course management guidance for players of varying abilities. The Golf Coach plans and leads clinics, junior programs, and skills-development sessions, and collaborates with club staff to support tournaments, member events, and player development initiatives. Daily responsibilities include assessing player needs, creating lesson plans, tracking progress, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. The Golf Coach also promotes best practices in etiquette, sportsmanship, and use of practice facilities while representing the club in a professional manner.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Golf Instruction and Coaching, with experience teaching players at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.Expert knowledge of Golf fundamentals and Sports Coaching principles, including technique, practice planning, and performance improvement.Experience in Golf Management or club operations, with the ability to coordinate lessons, clinics, and program schedules effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse range of players.Demonstrated commitment to safety, inclusivity, and positive player experiences on and off the course.Relevant coaching certifications or professional golf association affiliation preferred.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on club and player needs.Prior experience coaching juniors, groups, or teams is an asset.
