Executive Chef - Weymouth Country Club
Position Summary
The Executive Chef is responsible for the overall culinary vision, execution, and leadership of all food operations at Weymouth Country Club. This role ensures exceptional dining experiences for members and guests through high-quality cuisine, innovative menu development, consistent execution, and strong financial and people leadership. The Executive Chef works collaboratively with the General Manager and Food & Beverage leadership to elevate the club’s culinary reputation while maintaining fiscal responsibility and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership & Menu Development
Develop and execute creative, seasonally inspired menus for:
Main dining room
Casual/grill operations
Private events, weddings, and banquets
Club traditions, themed events, and golf outings
Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control across all outlets
Incorporate member feedback and dining trends into menu planning
Oversee daily food preparation, plating standards, and service timing
Operations & Execution
Lead all kitchen operations including production, sanitation, and equipment maintenance
Establish and enforce standardized recipes, prep lists, and execution standards
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations (ServSafe, local health department, etc.)
Coordinate closely with front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless service
Financial Management
Manage food cost, labor cost, and inventory controls to meet or exceed budgeted targets
Conduct weekly inventories, ordering, and vendor management
Negotiate pricing and product quality with purveyors and suppliers
Analyze P&L statements and adjust operations to improve profitability
Team Leadership & Culture
Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a high-performing culinary team
Establish clear expectations, accountability, and professional development pathways
Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined kitchen culture
Lead by example with professionalism, composure, and hands-on engagement
Member Experience & Events
Collaborate on club events, tastings, wine dinners, holiday programming, and special activations
Interact with members regularly to build rapport and trust
Handle member feedback and recovery with urgency and hospitality
Support the club’s overall mission of delivering personalized, memorable experiences
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive culinary leadership experience, preferably in a private club, resort, or high-volume upscale dining environment
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef
Strong knowledge of classical and contemporary cooking techniques
Demonstrated success managing food cost, labor, and inventory
Experience with banquets, weddings, and high-end private events
ServSafe Certified (or ability to obtain promptly)
Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
