The General Manager (GM) role at Mission Valley Golf & Country Club is a fabulous opportunity for a driven hospitality professional who desires to lead a mature stand-alone, member-owned country club in the Sarasota, Florida market.
The new GM will be instrumental in ensuring the achievement of goals for all club operations including golf, tennis, the food and beverage department and overall club operations through proactive leadership and comprehensive management and attention to detail. A strong financial acumen is desired for the successful candidate.
This individual will be following a very successful General Manager who is retiring when the new GM is in place later this year. The role demands excellent people skills, a relationship driven individual with the ability to build and enhance effective teams, strategic planning and project management experience is a big plus. Strong golf and agronomic experience are desired as it is the number one amenity at Mission Valley.

MISSION VALLEY GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB AND THE SURROUNDING AREA Mission Valley Golf & Country Club (MVGCC) is a welcoming private club in the heart of Florida’s Gulf Coast, offering a relaxed and family-oriented atmosphere paired with a strong sense of tradition and camaraderie. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Nokomis, the club features an enjoyable championship golf course, an active social calendar, dining amenities, and recreational opportunities that appeal to members of all ages.
Conveniently located near Sarasota and Venice, Mission Valley blends the charm of a close-knit club community with the lifestyle and outdoor beauty that define Southwest Florida living.
The club’s walkable 18-hole championship golf course, originally designed by David Wallace, provides an enjoyable challenge for players of all skill levels and is complemented by premium practice facilities, including a driving range, short-game area, bunker practice space, and putting greens. Members also enjoy an active tennis program featuring Har-Tru courts and year-round play opportunities for both competitive and recreational players.
At the center of the club is the expansive 20,000-square-foot clubhouse, which serves as a gathering place for dining, social events, and member activities. Dining amenities include both a casual Grille Room and a more refined Formal Dining Room, each offering scenic golf course views. An expanded outdoor patio with firepits creates a relaxed setting for open-air dining and socializing throughout the year.
Members also enjoy a vibrant social calendar filled with tournaments, special events, dinners, and community gatherings that foster the club’s welcoming and family-oriented atmosphere.
The club is currently developing a comprehensive Clubhouse improvement plan. The incoming General Manager will play a key leadership role in guiding this initiative, which is already underway. The board is focused on what needs to be done to improve the assets to stay competitive in the marketplace and to ensure member satisfaction.

General Manager – Position Overview The General Manager (GM) is hired, retained by, and reports to the Board of Directors. The GM has clear “ownership” for the day-to-day operations of Mission Valley Golf & Country Club, focusing on the member experience, successfully create and follow an annual business plan for the club, and all the necessary elements, activities, and staff to support the day-to-day activities.
He/She is respo
