About the Role
Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Club in Inman, South Carolina is looking for an Assistant Golf Professional.
Position Overview:
• Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of Woodfin Ridge Golf Club. Have a service-minded attitude.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
• Serve as an ambassador for the Club by tirelessly promoting, serving and representing Woodfin Ridge, and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the Club as a whole.
• Assist the General Manager and Head Golf Professional in the management and execution of daily play and tournament schedule.
• Maintain an active role in the merchandise operation, assisting the Professional staff in terms of receipt, display, inventory control, promotion, and sales of merchandise.
• Assist in the training, supervision, and mentoring of the Outside Service Staff.
• Professionally, respectfully, and tactfully interprets, informs and enforces Club policies with members, guests, and staff.
• Maintain a high level playing ability, playing not only with the membership, but also in Carolinas PGA Section events.
• Assist the other Professional Staff in supervising and managing the total golf operation in an effective and efficient manner in the absence of the Director of Golf.
• Work closely with the Outside Service Staff; monitoring and maintaining the required pace of play, assisting in the supervision and training of both outside service staff members, and work alongside the outside service staff to ensure all areas of the operation run smoothly.
• Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
• Must have strong customer/guest service skills
• Experience managing tee sheets, tournament operations, handicapping, and golf shop retail operations
• Strong knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament administration
• Solid supervisory and leadership skills, be well organized and detail-oriented, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have computer and tournament software skills and experience
• Golf industry experience preferred
• Intent to work towards PGA Membership
Compensation
$17.00 per hour.
