Job Summary
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all Members and guests in or around aquatic facilities by actively monitoring swimming areas, enforcing rules and regulations, and responding to emergency situations. This role requires consistent attention to surroundings, the ability to act quickly under pressure, and the physical ability to perform water rescues and administer first aid and CPR when necessary. This position is responsible for creating a warm and happy atmosphere in and around the aquatic facilities.
Duties
Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of individuals in the event of an emergency.Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.Enforce all facility rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner.Inspect the pool area and safety equipment regularly to ensure safe conditions; report any hazards or malfunctions promptly.Maintain a clean and organized pool deck, guard station, and surrounding areas.Participate in regular in-service training, emergency drills, and staff meetings.Complete incident reports and daily operational logs accurately and in a timely manner.Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with patrons and other staff.Preferred Qualifications (Lifeguard Certification and CPR/First Aid/AED Certification offered internally):
Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization (American Red Cross).Certification in CPR for First Aid, and AED.Requirements:
Must be at least 15 years of age.Ability to pass a physical skills evaluation and swim test.This position offers an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about water safety and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment while providing excellent/fun service to Members and guests.
