About the Role
The Director of Golf/Assistant Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing both golf operations and daily facility management. This position bridges instruction, league management, and front-of-house operations while supporting the General Manager in executing business objectives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable delivering high-quality golf instruction, managing leagues and simulator systems, and supervising staff to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations & Leadership
• Act as Manager on Duty, overseeing all aspects of daily operations.
• Support the General Manager in executing operational systems, processes, and business initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming facility at all times.
• Monitor workflow and service levels, stepping in as needed to maintain efficiency.
2. Staff Management & Accountability
• Assist in training, coaching, and developing staff across all departments.
• Enforce performance standards and hold team members accountable for service, behavior, and responsibilities.
• Provide real-time feedback and assist with performance evaluations.
• Help foster a positive, team-oriented culture while maintaining high expectations.
3. Golf Instruction & Player Development
• Deliver individual and group golf lessons for players of all skill levels.
• Develop structured lesson plans and track player progress over time.
• Provide an engaging, educational, and fun learning environment.
• Promote coaching programs and help drive lesson revenue.
• Design and implement curriculum for golf camps, clinics, and youth development programs.
• Lead the planning, scheduling, and full execution of all camps, ensuring a high-quality and organized experience.
• Create age-appropriate instruction that balances skill development, gameplay, and fun.
• Train and oversee staff assisting with programs to ensure consistency in coaching and safety standards.
4. League & Event Management
• Organize, manage, and execute golf leagues & tournaments.
• Handle league operations including scheduling, registration, scoring, and communication.
• Work with the General Manager to enhance league offerings and increase participation.
• Help create a fun, competitive, and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
5. Customer Experience & Engagement
• Act as a primary point of contact during shifts to resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding hospitality and service.
• Build relationships with regular guests, league members, and lesson clients.
• Support initiatives that drive customer loyalty, retention, and repeat business.
6. Simulator & Facility Management
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot simulator systems, including hardware and software.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, updates, and system checks.
• Address technical issues promptly and coordinate with support vendors when needed.
• Maintain inventory of simulator-related equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
• Experience in hospitality, golf operations, or a related leadership role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals and ability to provide instruction (PGA certification is a plus but not required).
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Comfortable troubleshooting basic technology and simulator systems.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
