Position: Grounds Maintenance Tech I - Chester Golf Club Location: Chester OVERVIEW The Grounds Maintenance Tech position works on a diverse range of activities involved in the maintenance and daily preparation of the golf course. They are responsible for grounds construction, maintenance work, and other related tasks as required. KEY FUNCTIONSBecome proficient at operating machinery or small equipment as it pertains to maintaining a golf courseOperate powered equipment to mow greens, approaches, fairway, tees, and roughOperate an edger and string trimmerManages areas planted with trees, shrubs, and flowersSet up the course tee markers and change cupsMaintain ball washers, water hazards, and bunkersOperate light equipment essential to haul materials and remove debris around the courseTrims trees, prunes shrubs, and pulls weeks as neededPerform duties in a courteous and professional manner to ensure meeting guest's needsProvide superior service when interacting with guests and team membersShow initiative and seek additional assignments that will better serve guestsPerforms other duties as requiredTHE LSC WAY Our Culture is a top priority. Must be a highly motivated individual. Must have the ability to perform physical tasks related to the operation of small equipment and tools. High School Diploma or equivalent supplemented by two years of golf course experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, push or pull. The employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, sharp objects, extreme heat and/or open flame. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
