Position Summary The Banquet / À La Carte Captain is responsible for leading the front-of-house service team to deliver exceptional dining experiences in a private country club setting. This role combines hands-on service with leadership responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations, adherence to service standards, and readiness for all club activities and events.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Service Oversight
Act as lead server during service, setting the tone for professionalism and hospitality
Supervise and support servers and support FOH to ensure consistent execution of service standards
Promote and enforce established steps of service
Responsible for training new team members, including menu knowledge and service expectations
Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff
Operational Responsibilities
Oversee server opening and closing duties, ensuring all tasks are completed to standard
Ensure staff uniforms and grooming meet club expectations
Work with management daily and weekly schedules to maintain proper staffing levels
Assign sections based on reservations, tee sheet activity, and club events
Anticipate upcoming events and proactively prepare staffing and operational needs
Maintain a strong working knowledge of the POS system (Clubessential)
Service Execution
Take an active role in service, including handling a smaller section during high-volume periods
Float and support team members during slower periods (no assigned section)
Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing concerns promptly and professionally
Demonstrate strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage offerings
Compliance & Coordination
Ensure adherence to food safety and alcohol service standards
Work collaboratively with the Clubhouse Manager and Assistant General Manager
Assist with closing the building when required
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of serving experience in a country club and/or fine dining environment
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Strong knowledge of food, wine, and alcohol service
Experience with POS systems (Clubessential)
T.I.P.S. certification and food safety certification preferred
Ability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry trays, equipment, and supplies as needed

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
