Definition:
Perform a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to equipment operation, grounds
maintenance, construction and repair of City golf courses and related facilities.
Principal Duties:
•Support full time staff members with golf course maintenance operations.
•Assist with course set-up to include changing location of cups, move tee markers, put
out flag poles, rake and edge sand bunkers, pick up and empty trash, fill ball washers,
repair ball marks, remove, cleaning golf course facilities regularly, and replace sod in
damaged areas or in new construction.
•Safely operate a wide variety of equipment in regards to the mowing operation to
include mowing greens, collars, surrounds, tees, fairways, rough and native grass areas.
•Participate in a wide variety of assigned maintenance duties on golf course grounds and
facilities including helping with the repair and installation of golf irrigation sprinkler
heads, lines, and controllers.
•Perform minor equipment repair, adjustments, or lubrication required for daily use.
•Participate in the construction, maintenance and renovation of City golf course facilities.
•Apply fertilizer to course as needed
•Clean shop and restrooms regularly.
•Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and landscaped areas.
•Work alone or as a member of a crew.
•Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City
Attributes.
Working Environment:
Work is performed outside most of the time, under varying and extreme weather conditions.
Work includes exposure to noise, dust, pollen, gases and oils, solvents and chemicals including a
variety of herbicides, fungicides, pesticides and fertilizers. Work requires considerable physical
effort including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing,
pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. Coordination of eyes,
hands, legs, and body is needed. Must be able to work alone or in a group on multiple
concurrent tasks with frequent customer contact. Work requires ability to communicate and
work cooperatively with employees and the public. Work involves the possibility of being struck
by a golf ball. Incumbents are required to work weekends, holidays, and adjusted schedules as
needed. The candidate for this position must be able to meet the physical requirements
necessary to do the job.
Qualifications:
Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent. Prior parks, landscape, forestry or golf course
maintenance experience is preferred but not required. Special Qualifications: Possession of a
valid Colorado Driver License is required. Must be 18 years of age or older.
