Job Title: Industrial Engineer
Business Unit: 710000 – DC - General
Reports to: Senior Distribution Manager
Job Summary:
The Industrial Engineer plays a key role in supporting and driving continuous improvement in all
areas of the operation and serves as a bridge between Operations and IT to streamline operations
company-wide and optimize efficiency within processes that cross multiple departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
•
Analyze system applications and UBEs to ensure alignment with operational objectives
•
Analyze process utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs,
process flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of people,
methods, and equipment.
•
Research technology advances in material handling equipment and systems to develop
cost-effective improvements to operating methods and procedures
•
Develop management systems for cost analysis, financial planning, and job evaluation
•
Maintain process cost models
•
Provide analytical and project management support to operations management to include
local projects and initiatives, as well as expense budgeting and performance analysis
•
Develop, implement, track, and communicate productivity and service KPIs resulting from
the work measurement programs
•
Provide analytical support for developing KPIs and calculations of ROIs
•
Create project plans, drawings, and process flows for new and existing operations
•
Monitor facility utilization including space and throughput efficiencies
Required Skills/Abilities:
•
Experience with ERP integration and understanding of processes from order to cash
•
Experience with WCS interfaces with back-end WMS software applications
•
Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
•
Knowledge of engineered standards-based productivity management systems
•
Communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and to train and coach
others
•
Organizational design and project management skills
•
Proficiency with MS Office Applications/MS Project, Access, Excel, statistical/data
analysis, and Visio or other Flow Charting Experience

Education and Experience:
•
BS degree in Industrial Engineering or comparable program
•
At least two years of experience in process optimization and workflow design in a
Distribution or Manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements:
•
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
•
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
