About the Role
Overview
This full-time position reports directly to the Head Golf Course Superintendent and is responsible for managing the crew, administrative duties, training, and applications of pesticides and fertilizers. The role supports a positive experience for members and guests while contributing to daily golf course operations.
Experience Required
3+ years of turf grass management experience preferredSupervisory experience requiredA four-year college degree preferred, but not requiredGCSAA Member or apprentice preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of budgeting and expense managementBasic computer skills, including Word and ExcelStrong business aptitude and passion for the golf businessHighly organized and efficient with strong attention to detailExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
Essential Responsibilities
Supervise and train foreman, irrigation technician, and other employees in the maintenance departmentPrepare weekly schedules for foreman, irrigation staff, and other maintenance employeesMonitor inventory of maintenance equipment, equipment usage, preventative maintenance schedules, and safety trainingWork closely with the Superintendent in managing the annual budget and maintenance recordkeepingAssist in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies and daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly fertilization and irrigation schedulesCalibrate and operate pesticide sprayersImplement all Troon Human Resources guidelinesAssist the Superintendent in informing members about present and future maintenance activitiesPerform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
