About the Role
## Overview
Raleigh Country Club is seeking Servers to join our team and provide food and beverage service to club members and guests at our property in Raleigh, NC (400 Donald Ross Drive, Raleigh, NC, 27610, US). ### What the job involves
As a Server you will deliver attentive, courteous service to members and guests. You will set up side stations, perform assigned side (prep) work, distribute food and wine menus, and provide immediate attention to guests upon seating. You are expected to:
- Set up the side station and perform assigned prep work.
- Provide immediate attention to members and guests upon seating and make sure children are seated safely.
- Distribute menus, answer questions, fill glasses with ice water and suggest menu items.
- Ensure correct account numbers and names are given for billing and handle member charge and credit card charges according to standard operating procedures.
- Efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly manner, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections, and place orders with the kitchen while informing cooks of special cooking instructions.
- Assemble food on trays, procure items from stations as necessary, serve meals course-by-course, check back to ensure satisfaction, and replenish water and butter as needed.
- Remove soiled dishes, clear and reset tables after each course with appropriate silverware, present dessert menus, and serve dessert, coffee, and after-dinner drinks.
- Verify accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on checks and present the bill.
- Keep the dining room, pool cabana, and bus station areas clean and perform clean-up and closing duties as assigned.
- Attend pre-meal meetings as requested by the Dining Room Manager or other Food and Beverage Manager and turn in signed tip declaration forms as appropriate.
- Consistently follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests.
- Advise your supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur and perform other duties assigned by the Assistant Clubhouse Manager or other Food and Beverage Manager.
### Experience, education and certifications
- Grade 12 education.
- Two years of comparable wait service experience preferred.
- The ability to read, write and execute basic math skills.
- Food safety certification is required.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages and have alcoholic beverage certification.
You should be able to greet and acknowledge members and guests, be knowledgeable about the menu, buffet and wine list, and time the service of each course. Learning members’ names and preferences and having knowledge of wines and spirits are important. You should also have knowledge of and the ability to perform the required role during emergency situations.
### Physical demands and environment
This position requires standing for long periods and walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting or reaching. You may push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds and perform continuous repetitive motions. Work is performed in hot, humid and noisy environments.
### Compensation
USD $12.00
