Warwick Country Club is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Banquet Operations Manager to join our team. This position offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
Position Overview
The Banquet Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet operations to ensure an exceptional experience for club members and guests. This role involves hiring, training, and supervising banquet staff, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills and be committed to excellence in hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Provide outstanding service by maintaining a friendly, professional demeanor with guests and colleagues.
• Communicate proactively with clients and on-site contacts to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded.
• Coordinate set up with various departments for timely and efficient service delivery.
• Maintain close communication with kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination between food preparation and service.
• Ensure banquet setups are executed by Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and that staff is well-prepared.
• Inspect table settings, linens, china, glassware, silverware, and condiments to ensure cleanliness and proper arrangement.
• Supervise banquet staff to ensure adherence to operating procedures and service standards.
• Oversee the setup of tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment, and other event details.
• Supervise post-event breakdown, cleanup, and reset.
• Maintain clean and organized back-of-house and storage areas.
• Lead and conduct staff training sessions to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Organize and lead regular staff meetings to foster communication and team development.
• Strategically plan and oversee event execution alongside banquet captains.
• Attend management and event planning meetings.
• Prepare accurate daily event summaries and complete administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in Jonas and Point of Sale (POS) systems (preferred).
• Strong service background with a focus on staff training and skill development.
• Minimum of five years of banquet experience in a country club or hotel setting (preferred).
• Previous supervisory or management experience required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage operations.
• Ability to manage high-pressure situations, including guest complaints and conflict resolution.
• Strong listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $70,000+ per year (based on experience).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Service Management or Hospitality Management (preferred).
