About the Role
The Banquet Server at Bryn Mawr Country Club (BMCC) is responsible for setting up banquet and event spaces, providing food and beverage service during events, and assisting with breakdown and cleanup after functions. This position ensures members and guests receive attentive, professional service while maintaining the club’s high standards for events and private functions.
Additional Responsibilities
• Performs banquet room set-up tasks including arranging tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, and other service equipment according to event diagrams or banquet event orders (BEOs).
• Provides immediate and courteous attention to members and guests upon seating to ensure a welcoming and professional service experience.
• Takes beverage orders and serves food within the assigned station according to banquet service standards.
• Pours and refills wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served during and after the meal.
• Clears soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils throughout the event to maintain a clean and organized dining environment.
• Maintains cleanliness of assigned work areas in both banquet spaces and kitchen service areas.
• Advises the Banquet Captain or supervisor of any member or guest complaints immediately so they can be addressed promptly.
• Assists with event breakdown and closing duties including removing linens, bussing dishes and glassware, organizing equipment, and resetting the room for the next function.
• Follows banquet event orders (BEOs) to ensure proper timing, service style, and event setup requirements are executed accurately.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of food service procedures and alcoholic beverages to properly assist guests during banquet service.
• Assists other service staff as needed to ensure smooth and efficient execution of events.
• Attends staff meetings and pre-event briefings conducted by the management team.
