Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club is seeking motivated and dependable individuals to join the Golf Course Maintenance team as Groundskeepers. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining high-quality playing conditions.
Position Summary The Groundskeeper assists in maintaining the golf course and surrounding club grounds by performing a variety of landscaping and turf maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining playing surfaces, landscaping beds, irrigation support, and assisting with general grounds upkeep across the property.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general golf course maintenance including mowing, trimming, and edging
Maintain landscape beds around the clubhouse and golf course grounds
Plant and maintain shrubs, trees, flowers, and ornamental plantings
Repair ball marks and fill divots on playing surfaces
Rake and maintain bunkers and practice areas
Assist with sod installation and turf repair
Operate small turf equipment including blowers, weed eaters, utility vehicles, and walk-behind mowers
Maintain and clean equipment used on the golf course
Assist with irrigation repairs, trenching, and installation when needed
Maintain driving range tee areas and practice facilities
Remove debris and maintain cleanliness of cart areas, parking lots, and walkways
Assist with aerification and other cultural practices
Support the golf course maintenance team with additional tasks as assigned by supervisors
Requirements
Prior experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred (approximately six months or more):
Interest in the game of golf is helpful but not required
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to operate basic landscape and turf equipment
Valid driver’s license preferred
Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
May need to use some protective equipment, such as a respirator, gloves, earplugs, eye guards/visors, boots, and hat.
Often required to get dirty and/or work in dirty environments.
