SUMMARY
This position is responsible for welcoming the golfer, providing them with the golf course information necessary to enjoy a pleasant, enjoyable and memorable round of golf. It will also inform guests of the particulars of the golf course including any golf car restrictions, our expected pace of play, monitoring and enforcing that pace of place and offering helpful tips about the golf course.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet golfers and other guests as they arrive at the starter houseProject a pleasant attitude to all guests, members and fellow employeesUse tee sheet to organize the order of play at the 1st teeProvide the appropriate course information and policies, including cart restrictions, Maintenance areas worth noting on the course, pace of play, etc…Be familiar with the Receipts and make sure everyone has checked into the pro shop before proceeding to the 1st teeDistribute practice balls to guests using the practice facilityOn Starter’s sheet, keep track of cart numbers, actual starting times, and get golf car driver’s signature providing acceptance of our liability coverageKeep Practice tee and putting green neat and orderlyCommunicate with the Maintenance crew on daily conditions and restrictionsProperly use radio and/or phone to communicate professionally with other staff membersKeep the starter house and surrounding area cleanMonitor Pace of Play, maintaining an acceptable level of pace for each courseComplete a Daily Activities sheet each day providing information such as Average Pace of Play, Pace for 1st ten groups of the day, feedback from golfers, etc…Be extremely familiar with the Resort, being able to answer questions, or directing them to the proper individual or department when necessaryProvide clean water and coolers for the golfers on the course by replenishing and cleaning the coolers throughout your shiftMonitor the cleanliness of the porta potties and clean when necessaryFix ropes, sand tees, and replace stakes when neededComplete all assignments requested of youMust follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by Employee HandbookMaintain open line of communication with SupervisorMust understand and abide by environmental practices of the Resort.Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Director of Golf Operations or Head Golf Professional
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must have previous knowledge of golf course operations and etiquette . Customer service experience helpful.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
A professional individual with a great ability to communicate is required. They must be able to have pleasant conversations with other staff and guests.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Required to bend and lift items up to 50 lbs to shoulder level. Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
There can be some stress involved with this position, as there may be difficult situations involving our guests that need to be handled. These situations must be handled with tact and professionalism. Also, high business levels require the staff member to maintain their professionalism while getting the golfers the proper information and onto the golf course on time.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is primarily outside and requires working in conditions including hot and cold temperatures, rain, snow, and wind. The hours for this position vary and can range anywhere from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.
COMMENTS
Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug/alcohol urinalysis as a condition of employment. Must be able to work flexible hours and take on additional responsibilities when asked. Must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality
