Line Cook
Reports to: Executive Chef
In-Person | Full-Time and Part Time
Pay Range: $18-$22/hr.
Position Summary
Riverton Country Club is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team. This position is ideal for a professional who takes pride in scratch cooking, values seasonal ingredients, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven kitchen.
Our Line Cook is responsible for the preparation and execution of menu items in accordance with club standards. Our culinary program is rooted in scratch cooking and a seasonal approach, with an emphasis on quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and consistent execution across multiple outlets, including our restaurant, banquet operations, and seasonal pool café.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare and execute menu items from scratch, following established recipes and presentation standards
Work with fresh, seasonal ingredients, contributing to menus that evolve throughout the year
Maintain consistency and proper timing during service in a high-volume, detail-driven kitchen
Set up and maintain an organized, sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety standards
Perform daily prep work, including mise en place, butchery, stock and sauce production
Collaborate with chefs and team members to ensure smooth, efficient service across all outlets
Follow proper food storage, labeling, and rotation procedures (FIFO)
Assist with banquet and event production, maintaining high standards across varied dining formats
Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment; report any issues promptly
Qualifications & Skills
1–3 years of professional kitchen experience preferred, club, hotel, or upscale restaurant experience a plus
Strong foundation in cooking techniques, knife skills, and scratch preparation
Passion for working with seasonal products and high-quality ingredients
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining organization and attention to detail
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Education & Experience
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment
