## Golf Spray Technician — Giants Ridge
Compensation Amount: 19.00 USD Hourly
The Spray Technician reports directly to the golf course superintendent and assistant golf course superintendent. You will mix, prepare and apply chemical solutions such as insecticides, herbicides and fungicides, maintain pesticide and fertilizer inventory, and keep accurate records of pesticide and fertilizer applications. This role is onsite at Giants Ridge and may offer potential for year-round employment with opportunities to transition into other roles as seasons change.
You will perform tasks that include applying fertilizer and chemical applications, updating spray records, inventory and Material Safety Data Sheets, and calibrating spray equipment and fertilizer spreaders. General upkeep and maintenance of spray equipment is part of the job, and you will diagnose pest and fungus issues once properly trained. On non-spray days you will perform golf maintenance duties as assigned by the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, along with other duties as assigned.
Must possess a valid driver’s license. You should be able to operate trucks and light motorized equipment and perform simple mathematical calculations. The position requires a willingness to learn, the ability to maintain a neat and organized workspace, and the ability to understand and follow oral direction. Strong attention to detail is required. You must be able to obtain and maintain a commercial applicator license in category A and E, paid for by the employer. If you don’t have your pesticide applicator license, the employer will pay for you to get your Non
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
Physical and mental requirements are specific: ability to wear applicator suites, full face respirators or chemical resistant apparel; regularly required to reach with hands and arms; often required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; occasionally required to balance, stoop, twist upper body, kneel and climb. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color and peripheral vision and depth perception. Expect moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards. Noise level is typically moderate to loud. Ability to work extended hours during golf season including weekends and holidays is required.

Whether you are new to the industry or experienced, this role is suitable: previous experience in landscaping or golf course maintenance is a plus, but not required. The position asks for a strong work ethic and dependability, willingness to learn and take on new challenges, comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions, and the ability to work early mornings, rotating weekends and flexible hours as needed.
