About the Role
Old Mine Club is seeking a driven, high-energy Senior Assistant Superintendent to join the agronomy leadership team at a premier, brand-new Beau Welling Design golf facility. The club will feature an 18-hole championship course, a 15-hole par-3 course, and a state-of-the-art practice facility set along Cedar Creek Lake in Malakoff, Texas. The 15-hole par-3 course, grassed with Stadium zoysia fairways and Lazer zoysia greens, is scheduled to open in Fall 2026, followed by the championship 18-hole course opening in Fall 2027. This position is intentionally structured for an ambitious professional who desires to become a Head Golf Course Superintendent at their next career stop. Working directly with the Golf Course Superintendent, ownership, and club leadership, the Senior Assistant Superintendent will gain meaningful exposure to high-level agronomic decision-making, leadership, communication, and operational planning while helping establish championship-level standards from the ground up.

Primary Responsibilities
• Assist the Golf Course Superintendent in overseeing daily golf course maintenance operations while maintaining exceptional quality and playability standards
• Play a significant role in the grow-in and establishment of the golf courses, helping develop agronomic programs, maintenance standards, and conditioning philosophies from the ground up
• Assist with the planning, setup, and transition into a new, purpose-built maintenance facility, helping establish efficient workflows, organization standards, and best practices from day one
• Serve as a key leader within the agronomy team, helping to manage, train, motivate, and retain staff
• Lead daily crew assignments and ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, and resources
• Assist with irrigation system programming, scheduling, troubleshooting, moisture management, and pump station operations, including hands-on involvement with a Rain Bird Cirrus Pro IC two-wire irrigation system
• Monitor turf conditions and proactively address issues related to stress, soil moisture, pests, disease, drainage, and traffic
• Support calibration and operation of application equipment and assist with fertilizer and pesticide programs
• Help manage inventory, purchasing, and equipment upkeep in coordination with mechanics and vendors
• Communicate clearly and professionally with the Superintendent regarding course conditions, priorities, and staffing needs
• Participate in planning and execution of special projects, renovations, and tournament preparation
• Uphold Old Mine Club’s philosophies, standards, and commitment to tradition, playability, and presentation
• Assist with safety training and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
