Job Summary:
Golf Starter Responsibilities: A golf starter acts as the first point of contact for players and orchestrates the start of each round. Key duties include:
Verifying Tee Times: Checking in players, confirming payment, and ensuring correct tee time assignments.Organizing Groups: Pairing singles or twosomes to form full foursomes to optimize course capacity.Providing Course Information: Communicating daily rules, course conditions, pin placements, and any temporary restrictions.Supplying Essentials: Offering scorecards, pencils, and directions to practice areas or facilities.Pace of Play Management: Directing players to the first tee at appropriate times to maintain smooth flow.Staff Coordination: Leading outside golf team members, assigning duties to bag staff and range attendants, and ensuring uniforms and equipment are properly maintained.Facility Representation: Interacting with members and guests professionally, using tact and courtesy, and coordinating with professional staff for tournaments and daily operations.Golf Ranger Responsibilities: A golf ranger patrols the course to maintain order and assist players. Key duties include:
Pace of Play Enforcement: Monitoring spacing between groups, addressing slow play, and implementing flag policies.Rule Enforcement: Ensuring golfers follow course rules, including cart paths, dress codes, and etiquette.Customer Assistance: Helping players with on-course issues, providing guidance, and alerting management to any problems.Course Maintenance Support: Promoting proper use of divot repair sand, ball mark repair, and raked bunkers to maintain course condition.Facility Promotion: Representing the golf course positively, promoting events, and assisting with overall customer experience.Skills and Qualities: Both roles require:
Strong Communication: Ability to interact professionally with members, guests, and staff.Customer Service Orientation: Pleasant yet firm demeanor to manage rules and pace of play.Organizational Skills: Coordinating tee times, staff duties, and course flow efficiently.Attention to Detail: Monitoring course conditions, equipment readiness, and player compliance. Knowledge of the game of Golf is desired.Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
