About the Role
The Assistant Golf Professional assists the General Manager in the managing of day-to-day Golf Operations of the facility. The position is responsible to supervise and manage total golf operations. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all Members.

Essential Job Functions:
• Shall report to the General Manager
• To operate on behalf of the Club, a neat and orderly Golf Shop for the sale of golf supplies and merchandise. Said Golf Shop shall be open for business on a schedule to be agreed to with the General Manager and shall be staffed with personnel. Golf Professional agrees to maintain and display a stock of merchandise, including "crested" merchandise, sufficient to meet the needs subject to the investment dollars as agreed by the General Manager;
• To supervise the bag room operation for storage of members' golf bags and the cleaning and minor repairs of members' golf clubs;
• To be available for golf instruction by appointment, it being understood that lesson fees are to be charged at a rate commensurate with like charges by other professionals of equal ability and experience.
• To supervise the daily cleaning and care of golf carts;
• To control the tee sheet and insure that pricing is correct and adjusts with demand
• To operate on the behalf of the Club, a driving range and practice area for the use of the members, it being understood that the Club shall furnish and maintain the physical facilities. Club shall make every reasonable effort to maintain said facilities commensurate with range and practice facilities at first class clubs. Club shall supply range balls and the equipment necessary for the use of such facilities;
• To configure and operate the Club’s selected computer application to be used for tournament event scoring including providing members and guests with assistance on the use of this application from their smart phones.
• To keep complete records and accounts with respect to purchase and sales by the Golf Shop, club service, cart rentals, green fees, and golf outings in a form satisfactory to Club and to make such information available to Club;
• To assist in, and personally supervise, when requested, the regular and special programs and tournaments of the golf program, which shall include coordination of all golf tournaments held by outside golf outings, publicity, sign-up sheets, scorecards, configuring the computer app for golf events, prize distribution, and profit and loss statements for each event. Work with the House management (e.g. House manager, chef, event coordinator, beverage manager) to ensure that all events involving House services are well-defined and priced accordingly. Secure Club Manager approval on pricing for all golf events in advance of booking the event;
• To maintain a "PGA" professional certification;
• To act professionally at all times
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Computer skills to include knowledge of work processing, spreadsheets, email platforms, social media
• Knowledge of the game of golf and retail operations
• Proficient in computer applications
• Excellent communication skills
• Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
