Basic Job Function
Safely operate a variety of power driven and hand held golf course maintenance equipment. To be exposed to most aspects of the golf maintenance operation. Meet or exceed golf course grooming standards established by management. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Must be in a college or secondary education program that is dealing with horticulture/landscaping/turf programMust have golf maintenance or landscape experienceAble to operate various power driven cutting and grooming machines, riding and walk-behind, motorized carts, gas, work with various turf maintenance chemicals, and various hand toolsConsistently aspires to fulfill our core Company values (Respect, Integrity, Passion, Teamwork, Accountability, Caring, Loyalty & Trust)Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members and co-workersMust possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy
Tasks/Responsibilities
Properly operates equipment such as: sand pros, tractor-lawn mowers, greens mowers, etc.Mows the greens and tee boxes in their respective areaChanges the water, soap and towel for each ball washerMoves tee markers and cups when necessaryReplaces the flag on the pin when necessaryReports any insect or animal damage to the supervisorResponsible for the overall condition of each hold they are assignedObserves and follows all requirements for the safe operation of equipment including the use of prescribed personal protective equipmentChecks machinery before using and before storing in the maintenance buildingThoroughly cleans each piece of equipment after use insuring that all trash and grass clippings have been washed off to prevent corrosion or harmful buildup of debrisReports any malfunction with machinery to mechanic or supervisor immediatelyReports any physical damage to equipment to the mechanic or supervisor so that the damage can be repairedPicks up trash, windfalls or anything that would be out of place affecting the appearance or playability of the golf courseLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersAnswer any questions guests may have about Sea Island or the area to the best of one’s abilityMaintain cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
Physical Requirements
Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsMust have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 75 lbs repeatedly throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal preferredMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsMaintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
