Club Manager Opportunity at Wicker Point Golf Club
The Club Manager position at Wicker Point Golf Club offers a unique opportunity to join a newly developed private club by Russell Lands, Inc., located along the beautiful shores of Lake Martin in central Alabama. This role is ideal for a dynamic hospitality professional with a strong passion for food and beverage and experience in private clubs or upscale hospitality settings highly preferred. The successful candidate will be a friendly, creative, and service‑driven leader with a background firmly rooted in all aspects of F&B and club operations, becoming an integral part of a high‑performing team that values a positive work environment and Southern traditions.
Position Overview
Oversee all operational and functional areas of the clubhouse with a primary focus on F&B operations, ensuring members and guests enjoy outstanding accommodations and service. Provide quality leadership, cultivate a positive atmosphere, and work with vendors and the community. Drive innovative solutions to meet evolving membership needs, support staff development, and maintain high service standards.
Oversee F&B staff management, including a la carte, events, and all culinary operations during tournaments.
Lead by example, maintaining upbeat, “can do” and “get it done” attitude toward members, team, and initiatives.
Ensure proper opening, closing, and security procedures.
Plan and execute special and club events with staff to produce qualitative results.
Hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff in all clubhouse capacities.
Coordinate hiring and termination matters with Human Resources and the Director of Club Operations.
Assist the Controller in budget preparation and adhere to budgetary guidelines for F&B operations.
Implement standard operating procedures to support a culture of service excellence.
Provide timely, proactive, and meaningful reports and analyses.
Maintain professional memberships and attend educational offerings that benefit the club and personal growth.
Candidate Qualifications
Experience in all aspects of front‑of‑house operations is an absolute requirement.
Strong hospitality leadership with experience inspiring and motivating teams.
Front‑of‑house presence during operating hours; face of hospitality for the club.
Passionate about achieving success in hospitality and proven track record.
Developed service training procedures, published a service manual, and mentored staff.
Communicated club mission and vision to staff effectively.
Solid financial aptitude commensurate with club executive level.
Experience in property, housekeeping, and maintenance management.
Team player and leader, able to work collaboratively and support team.
Strategic thinker able to meet operational and near‑term objectives.
Minimum five years of F&B management experience in a private club or hotel.
Understanding of premium club experience and ability to execute it.
Knowledge of facilities and membership management.
Financial acumen, HR policies and regulations, F&B, and club industry knowledge.
Skilled in hiring, supervising, mentoring and developing high‑achieving employees with lifelong training and coaching.
In‑depth knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.
Effective problem‑solving and verbal and written communication skills.
Strong management, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Experience designing and implementing front‑of‑house service techniques.
Educational & Certification Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred.
Experience in lodging management considered beneficial.
Sommelier certification encouraged.
