About the Role
The Facilities Assistant supports the Facilities Director in maintaining, repairing, and improving all club facilities and infrastructure. This role helps ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the club’s mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems while supporting the needs of all departments to enhance the member experience. Some weekends and holidays are required.
• *Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 hourly depending on experience.
• *Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the repair, maintenance, and improvement of club facilities and equipment
• Help ensure the smooth operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
• Perform routine inspections of mechanical rooms, equipment, parking areas, and grounds to ensure safety and proper operation
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and building codes
• Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs and maintain a high level of member satisfaction
• Organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments efficiently and accurately
• Meet deadlines and ensure thorough completion of maintenance tasks
• Record maintenance activities and equipment readings using basic computer programs
• Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to improve operational efficiency
• Use small hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• *Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems preferred
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental practices
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills and ability to read and write numbers in English for record keeping
• Ability to operate small hand tools and power tools
• *Physical Requirements
• Ability to push and pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. for extended periods
• Ability to independently lift up to 100 lbs., with team lifting for heavier items
• Ability to walk throughout the property, including stairs, and remain on your feet for extended periods or an entire shift
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, crouch/stoop, twist, and reach for extended periods
• Manual dexterity required to operate maintenance tools and equipment.

• *About Hiwan Golf Club:**
Hiwan Golf Club is a private golf and country club located in Evergreen, Colorado, USA. Just twenty-five miles west of downtown Denver, off of Interstate Highway 70, you will find us in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains situated at an elevation of 7,665 feet (2,336 meters), which places us almost half a mile higher than Zermatt, Switzerland. Despite our lofty location, we offer our members challenging emerald green fairways each summer with stunning mountain vistas. Our prime golf season extends from April to October, although Hiwan members have played the course in every month of the year. Hiwan Golf Club was founded in 1962 and has a rich history of golf tradition. Most of the biggest names of golf have played this course, and we hosted the USGA Girls’ Junior in 1965 and the USGA Junior Amateur for boys in 1976. We founded the Colorado Open in 1964 and hosted the tournament until 1991. In 2011, we hosted the prestigious Junior America's Cup. In addition to our famed course, we offer an array of amenities including a family-friendly, resort-style pool, fitness center, library, 5 tennis courts, 3 pickleball courts, and a golf simulator. While tee times are not available for non-members except as the guest of a Hiwan member, we encourage you to support one of the many charitable golf events held on Mondays from May to October. Banquet and special-event catering services, however, are available to non-members.
