The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a PGA Professional to serve as Head Golf Professional, responsible for directing day-to-day clubhouse operations, managing staff and resources, supporting tournaments, leagues, and golf programs, and providing high-quality instruction and customer service at assigned municipal golf courses.

About this Opportunity
Directs and supervises the clubhouse operations for assigned municipal golf courses. Assists golfers with various components of the game; including club fitting, rules of golf, teaching, game management and various other aspects related to the game of golf.

Position Functions
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises the work of assigned seasonal personnelCreates and executes budget requirements for multiple golf course operationsSchedules and administers facility tournaments, corporate outings, and charity fundraisersOrders, inventories, and manages food & beverage supplies on a weekly basisMaintains merchandise inventory, records, annual inventory purchases for resale and club fitting serviceAdministers contracts for golf cars and other outsourced servicesProvides technical assistance to the public on the game of golf, including private and group lessons, organizing leagues, scoring golf tournaments, recommending appropriate equipment and interpreting golf rulesCoordinates leagues, outings, merchandise and clinics with assigned Golf ProfessionalPerforms related work as required
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Two years of relevant college-level course work or an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or a related field andOne (1) to three (3) years of experience as a PGA Head Golf Professional orAn equivalent combination of education and/or experienceExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeAbility to work collaboratively with a diverse populationRequired Licenses or Certifications
Class A Member: PGA of America
Position Schedule
Monday-Friday, varied hours; weekends as needed during peak season months.
