About the Role
Del Webb Sun City, located in Bluffton, SC, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Pool Server! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable guiding guests through the menu, responding to dietary questions, anticipating guest needs, and working closely with the kitchen, bar, and management teams to deliver a consistent and enjoyable dining experience. This is an hourly position with tips.
Pay: $15.00 per hour plus tips
Job Duties
Provide prompt, friendly, and professional service to residents and guests in the dining room, bar area, and on the patio.
Greet guests, explain menu offerings and specials, and answer questions about food and beverages.
Take food and beverage orders and accurately enter all items into the Toast Point of Sale system.
Verify guest identification and follow all South Carolina alcohol-service laws and responsible-service procedures.
Deliver food and beverages promptly using established seat-position and service standards.
Check on guests throughout their meal, anticipate their needs, and respond promptly to additional requests.
Maintain working knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, accompaniments, beer, wine, cocktails, and nonalcoholic options.
Promote menu items, specials, desserts, premium beverages, and other offerings when appropriate.
Safely handle food allergies and dietary restrictions by clearly communicating guest needs to the kitchen and management team.
Process credit card and cash transactions accurately, provide correct change, and follow all guest-check and cash-handling procedures.
Follow all tip-out, cash-handling, and accounting procedures.
Prepare tables before service and maintain clean, properly stocked, and organized server stations.
Clear and reset tables efficiently and transport used dishes to the appropriate dish area.
Complete all assigned opening, ongoing, and closing duties, including cleaning tables, rolling silverware, restocking supplies, and disposing of trash.
Maintain clean and sanitary dining, patio, and service areas throughout the shift.
Assist with food running, bussing, beverage service, and other responsibilities as needed to support the team.
Communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar to ensure accurate and timely order preparation.
Notify management promptly of guest concerns, service delays, low inventory, safety issues, or unusual situations.
Respond calmly and professionally to dissatisfied guests and involve management when appropriate.
Follow all health department regulations and food-safety standards.
Follow alcohol-awareness procedures, including TIPS guidelines, and notify management when alcohol service should be limited or refused.
Attend all pre-shift meetings and scheduled staff meetings on time and in proper uniform.
Maintain a professional appearance and a courteous, respectful attitude toward residents, guests, coworkers, vendors, and management.
Represent The Brackish Bar & Lounge and Troon in a professional manner that supports their values and reputation.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Education, Training, Knowledge, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer-service experience preferred.
Experience with Toast or another restaurant point-of-sale system is helpful.
Working knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Knowledge of responsible alcohol-service practices and applicable South Carolina regulations.
Must possess or be willing to obtain required food-safety and responsible alcohol-service certifications, including ServSafe and TIPS or an approved equivalent.

Work Environment
This position operates in a restaurant and general food-service environment.
The Server may be required to stand and walk for up to ten hours during a shift.
The position requires frequent bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, and moving throughout the dining room, bar, kitchen, and patio areas.
The position may require lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
The Server may work indoors and outdoors, including in bright sunlight, heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions.
Evening, weekend, holiday, banquet, and special-event availability may be required.
