Cypress Lake Golf Club is seeking a motivated, energetic, and highly organized Assistant Tennis Professional to join our growing tennis program. This position works directly alongside the Director of Tennis and plays a key role in the daily operation, instruction, and administration of the Tennis Center.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tennis professional who is passionate about coaching, member engagement, facility operations, and growing a vibrant club tennis program.
Position Summary
The Assistant Tennis Professional will assist in all aspects of tennis operations and will be expected to learn and perform the full scope of responsibilities associated with managing a successful private club tennis facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong playing and teaching credentials, excellent customer service skills, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Tennis Instruction & Programming
Teach private and group lessons for adults and juniors
Assist with and lead clinics, camps, leagues, and social events
Help develop and grow junior and adult tennis programming
Provide exceptional member service on and off the court
Support team practices, match play, and special events
Tennis Operations
Assist with the day-to-day management of the Tennis Center
Manage court reservations and scheduling
Answer phones and respond to member inquiries
Handle administrative and office responsibilities
Assist with tournament and event coordination
Maintain accurate records and operational reports
Racquet Services
Perform racquet stringing and basic racquet maintenance
Manage string inventory and equipment needs
Facility & Court Maintenance
Work alongside court maintenance staff to learn and implement clay court standard operating procedures
Assist with court setup, maintenance oversight, and daily facility presentation
Help ensure courts and surrounding areas are maintained to club standards
Preferred Qualifications
College tennis playing experience preferred
Experience training at a recognized tennis academy is highly desirable
USPTA or PTR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Prior coaching and teaching experience
Racquet stringing experience preferred (or willingness to learn)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as required
Compensation & Benefits
Full-time position (40 hours per week)
Competitive hourly wage based on experience
