## What You'll Do
As the Meadows Head Golf Professional, you'll be responsible for providing and maintaining an exceptional Sunriver Resort experience for all members and resort guests. You'll play an integral role in membership development and retention, as well as ensuring the financial profitability of the Meadows Golf Course.
You'll manage all functions of the Meadows Golf Shop and operations, including operating and maintaining a reputable pro shop and practice range. Working in partnership with the VP of Operations, you'll provide leadership for all golf tournaments and events while coordinating closely with event coordinators and the management team. Your focus on increasing member retention by fostering relationships between members, increasing member participation, and boosting revenues per member will be essential to your success.
Instructional responsibilities include providing competent golf instruction for all groups and levels of players. You'll manage the rental program, ensuring proper maintenance of equipment, and supervise the operation of the handicap system. Effectively coordinating golf tournaments and supervising the proper charging of green fees and season privilege fees will be part of your daily work.
On the administrative side, you'll prepare operating and capital budgets for the Meadows golf course and ensure operation within those guidelines. You'll monitor time punches in UKG to ensure accurate payroll for Meadows Golf staff, pay all invoices in a timely manner, and accurately answer member questions regarding their membership accounts.
Your leadership responsibilities include supervising the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of golf maintenance staff. You'll be responsible for reinforcement of department and company standards through training, completing all proper new hire and termination paperwork, and recommending discipline or termination when appropriate. Working with HR to recruit and hire staff and managing timely completion of performance reviews will be ongoing responsibilities. You'll utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs while maintaining a safe and pleasant work environment.
You'll maintain a professional image for yourself and your team in keeping with the high standards of a first-class resort, maintaining strong morale and spirit throughout the team. Preparing and conducting staff meetings as required, responsible for equipment purchase, storage, inventory and maintenance, and maintaining strong knowledge of hospitality trends with a focus on golf are essential duties.
Complying with all Sunriver Resort's policies, procedures and safety regulations, maintaining a strong knowledge of emergency procedures, and instilling a calm, organized approach in all stressful situations are critical. You'll attend appropriate resort, division and department meetings and be responsible for the achievement of department goals and objectives.
Guest service is paramount—you'll provide general resort information for guests, offer warm and sincere welcomes and farewells for all guests including use of guest name when possible and good eye contact, and interact with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary. Always maintaining a professional demeanor, attitude, and appearance while following all Sunriver Resort dress code standards, and remaining alert, courteous and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times will ensure the exceptional experience our guests expect.
## What We're Looking For
You must hold a high school education or equivalent and be a PGA Class A member in good standing. Strong knowledge of the game of golf is required, along with the ability to play golf at a reasonable level.
A four-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Professional Golf Management is preferred. Prior high-end private golf club experience and at least two years of management experience are preferred qualifications.
You must have a valid driver's license and meet company driving standards.
