About the Role
Position Summary
The Entry-Level Greenskeeper is a key position within our Agronomy Department, dedicated to maintaining the high standards of our premier private golf club. This role focuses on delivering exceptional playing conditions for our members, emphasizing attention to detail, consistency, and professionalism.
Guided by the Director of Agronomy, Golf Course Superintendent, and Assistant Superintendent, the Entry-Level Greenskeeper will engage in essential golf course maintenance tasks, following our agronomic programs and presentation standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain all playing surfaces, including greens, tees, fairways, rough, and practice areas, to championship-level standards.
• Implement precise mowing techniques to promote turf health and aesthetic appeal.
• Assist in daily course setup, including cup changing, tee marker placement, and alignment details.
• Rake and maintain bunkers, ensuring uniformity, proper sand depth, and presentation quality.
• Conduct detailed landscape maintenance, including edging, trimming, and debris removal.
• Support irrigation activities, such as hand watering and basic system monitoring, to maintain optimal turf conditions.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently, caring for it to preserve course conditions.
• Identify and report turf stress, pest issues, or any deficiencies observed on the course to supervisors.
• Assist in preparing for tournaments and events with additional attention to detail.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization in maintenance facilities and among equipment.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and chemical handling protocols rigorously.
Member & Club Awareness
• Execute all duties understanding that the golf course is the club’s most prized asset.
• Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy while interacting with members and guests.
• Avoid disruptions to the member experience at all times.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance in line with club standards.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance is a plus.
• A strong interest in turfgrass management and golf course operations.
• Ability to follow directions and execute tasks with precision.
• Proven reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions throughout the year.
• Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to engage in extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and operating equipment.

• Early morning starts are necessary; working on weekends and holidays is standard practice.
