About the Role
Job Summary
The Head Golf Professional (PGA) / Director of Golf Operations is the senior leader responsible for all golf-related revenue centers and daily operations at Camarillo Springs Golf Course. This role drives financial performance, guest experience, and team leadership across golf operations, including the golf shop, tee sheet management, tournaments/outings, merchandising, cart fleet, and the practice facility (including Toptracer-enabled driving range).
This position requires a hands-on operator with strong leadership capability, revenue-generation mindset, and a commitment to delivering a best-in-class public golf experience consistent with Western Golf Properties standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Oversee all daily golf operations: Golf Shop, Guest Services, Starters/Rangers, Cart Operations, and Practice Facility.
Establish and enforce WGP operational standards, service expectations, and SOPs.
Lead hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of all golf operations staff.
Maintain a visible presence with guests and team members to ensure high service levels and accountability.
Coordinate closely with the General Manager and Corporate Team on strategic initiatives and reporting.
Revenue Generation & Financial Performance
Drive total golf revenue through:
Tee sheet optimization and pricing strategies
Tournament and outing sales/execution
Retail merchandising and inventory management
Instruction programs, clinics, and player development
Practice facility revenue (Toptracer, memberships, range programs)
Develop and execute annual and monthly business plans to achieve budget goals.
Monitor key performance metrics: rounds, ADR (average rate), utilization, and revenue per available tee time.
Control labor and operating expenses within budget guidelines.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
Ensure exceptional guest service from arrival through departure.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked operational areas:
Golf Shop
Cart staging and storage areas
Practice facility and driving range
Oversee pace of play and on-course experience through effective ranger/starter coordination.
Address guest concerns professionally and proactively.
Golf Shop & Merchandising
Manage all retail operations including buying, pricing, merchandising, and inventory controls.
Ensure visually appealing and profitable merchandise displays aligned with market trends.
Track sales performance and adjust product mix accordingly.
Tournament & Outing Operations
Lead all aspects of tournament and group sales, planning, and execution.
Work with marketing to grow outings, leagues, and corporate events.
Ensure flawless event execution with strong communication across departments.
Practice Facility & Range Operations
Oversee daily operation of the driving range and practice areas, including:
Range setup, cleanliness, and safety
Ball inventory, collection, and washing processes
Toptracer systems and user experience
Develop and grow range memberships and usage programs.
Ensure premium presentation and functionality at all times.
Cart Fleet & Facilities
Ensure golf carts are:
Clean, fully stocked, and properly staged
Maintained according to preventive maintenance schedules
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cart barn and storage areas.
Technology & Systems
Manage tee sheet and POS systems (EZLinks, Lightspeed, or equivalent).
Utilize reporting tools to analyze performance and identify revenue opportunities.
Ensure accurate daily reporting, cash controls, and system integrity.
Support payroll/timekeeping systems (Paylocity preferred).
Communication & Coordination
Maintain consistent communication with:
General Manager
Agronomy Team (course conditions and playability)
Food & Beverage operations
WGP Corporate Leadership
Lead daily operational meetings and staff briefings.
Opening, Closing & Asset Protection
Oversee all opening/closing procedures.
Ensure security and proper handling of company assets.
Maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Experience
Experience
Minimum 3+ years in golf operations or hospitality leadership role
Certifications
PGA Member or Associate preferred
Technical Skills
POS and tee sheet systems experience required (EZLinks, Lightspeed, or similar)
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required
Experience with web-based systems and reporting tools
Payroll/timekeeping familiarity (Paylocity preferred)
Public golf course experience strongly preferred

Team leadership and staff development
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
