About the Role
EXPO & SERVICE JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Coordinate, prioritize, and manage food orders to ensure timely and accurate service
• Serve as the primary communication link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff
• Verify that all dishes meet presentation, temperature, and quality standards before leaving the kitchen
• Manage tickets and order flow during service periods
• Communicate special requests, dietary restrictions, and modifications clearly to kitchen staff
• Maintain a clean, organized expo line and pass area
PREP AND KITCHEN SUPPORT JOB FUNCTIONS
• Assist with ingredient preparation, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring according to recipes and chef standards
• Ensure all ingredients are properly organized, labeled, dated, and ready for service
• Maintain stock levels of food and kitchen supplies and notify supervisors when restocking is needed
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and utensils
• Follow all sanitation, food safety, and hygiene standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
• Assist chefs, sous chefs, and line cooks as needed during prep and peak service times
This position does require evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook in a restaurant or similar establishment is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and various cooking methods.
• Strong attention to detail, especially in terms of food quality, presentation, and sanitation.
• Strong work ethics, reliability, and punctuality.
• Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly
• Ability to achieve positive member relations and maximize member satisfaction
PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO:
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, life, and carry up to 50 pounds, and work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to stand, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Ability to perform the duties of this job while exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
The Kitchen Expeditor (Expo) plays a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient kitchen operations by coordinating food orders between the kitchen and service staff while also assisting with basic food preparation. This position supports the culinary team by maintaining organization, quality control, and proper timing of dishes to deliver an exceptional dining experience for Club members and their guests.
Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, Club Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Club.
