Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of menu items following established recipes and standards
Ensure food safety and proper handling practices are maintained at all times
Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to sanitation regulations
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations
Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques
Handle food with care, utilizing proper knife skills and cooking techniques to produce high-quality dishes
Experience
Previous restaurant experience or kitchen experience is preferred, especially in fine dining settings
Familiarity with food industry standards related to food handling, safety, and sanitation
Experience with food preparation, cooking, meal assembly, and catering is highly desirable
Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods required
Background in dietary department or dietary aide work is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of special dietary needs
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
